Zulumecca is a gift to the game...

Every once in a while I stumble onto a new artist who completely stops me in my tracks and becomes my new obsession and as fate would have it, it has happened again.Real name Mandisa Nduna is an award winning actress who makes music under the moniker ZuluMecca. She is a phenomenal rapper who recently just dropped a new ep titled "Fable'' which in my eyes has placed her in a league that was only occupied by her predecessors. She is a generational talent and as soon as you press play on any of her songs you have no choice but to agree. Her skill set is advanced and none of her peers are even close.

I first heard her on song called ''Food & Liquor'' where she featured arguably one of the best lyricists to come out of South Africa Stogie T. By the time the song was over I had to pick my jaw off the ground because Zulumecca had delivered one of the most impeccable verses I have ever heard, and she did this all while standing next to Stogie T. I immediately went down a rabit hole to discover all of her music and I have had her on repeat ever since.

Her music and lyrics are intertwined with her perspectives on religion, her pursuit to understand her faith, black consciousness and her journey to the top of the music mountain. Through the music she manages to plant seeds and radiate enough light in your mind for these seeds to grow and become fully formed ideas on what exceptional black music consists of. In her latest single "Do you Get Bitches" she explains the delicate balance you must have as a "Dope mc" to become commercially successfully in the game. The way she carves and perfectly places every word on these beats is worldclass and I can't help but feel the same way I felt when I first heard Kendrick Lamar back in 2011. She is a generational talent and when the rest of the world catches up to her movement she has the potential to become one of the most loved and revered rap artists on the planet.

The 3 track ep "Fable" is out now so make sure you stream it today and check out her video for "Do you get Bitches" above and tell us what you think in the comment section.
