TEMS TAKES HOME HER FIRST GRAMMY

Nigeria's own Tems has made history as the first female Nigerian artist to win a Grammy Award. During the 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Tems earned her first Grammy for her contribution to Future's hit single "Wait For U," featuring Drake. Tems won in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, beating out other artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow, DJ Khaled, and Latto.

The 27-year-old artist, who has been making waves with her music in recent years, is also nominated for Album of the Year for her contributions to Beyoncé's Renaissance. In 2023, Tems received an Oscar nomination for co-writing "Lift Me Up," a song from the movie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Tems' win at the Grammys is just the latest recognition of her impressive talent. Her song "Higher," which was featured on her debut album "For Broken Ears," was sampled on "Wait For U." Since its release in May 2022, "Wait For U" has earned Tems worldwide praise for her vocal ability, leading to collaborations with musical powerhouses like Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Fans across the world have taken to social media to celebrate Tems' historic win, congratulating the Lagos-born star on her accomplishment. With her rising success, the future looks bright for Tems as she continues to make her mark on the music industry.
