Nigeria's own Tems has made history as the first female Nigerian artist to win a Grammy Award. During the 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Tems earned her first Grammy for her contribution to Future's hit single "Wait For U," featuring Drake. Tems won in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, beating out other artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow, DJ Khaled, and Latto.
The 27-year-old artist, who has been making waves with her music in recent years, is also nominated for Album of the Year for her contributions to Beyoncé's Renaissance. In 2023, Tems received an Oscar nomination for co-writing "Lift Me Up," a song from the movie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."
