SO WHATS NEXT FOR AMAPIANO IN 2023
How do we continue to spread the sound and lifestyle across the globe this year...

For the last 3 years Amapiano has managed to reach heights that no other South African genre has managed to reach on the world stage. The genres biggest acts have performed on some of the biggest stages around the globe and have spread the sound to every corner of the earth. So what is next for the genre in 2023,how do we all make sure that we keep the momenum going and finaly create global superstars from Piano?
It took Nigerias Afro Beats more than 10 years for the genre to create global super stars like Burna Boy and Wizkid so our job is to try and cut that time in half. First things first we need a Piano feaure from Drake and Bad bunny. After Kelvin Momo revealed his DM exchange with Drake last week that may happen faster than we all think. A feature from an artist like Drake or Bad Bunny could bring even more attention to Amapiano, as these are two of the biggest names in music today. Drake, in particular, has a huge fan base and a reputation for collaborating with artists from a wide range of genres. A feature from him would help to expose Amapiano to a new, diverse audience and make it more widely known. Further planting the Souh African flag in more parts of the globe. Similarly, a feature from Bad Bunny, who is one of the most popular Latin artists in the world, would introduce Amapiano to a different audience, helping to expand the genre's reach. Latin music is especially known for its danceable beats and a feature from Bad Bunny would help to expand the genre's reach and attract more fans in the Latin music community. The exposure that comes with a feature from such big names would also likely lead to more collaborations and opportunities for Amapiano artists. This could include opening up new opportunities to perform at festivals and other large-scale events, which could help to cement the genre's place in the global music scene. Uncle Waffles is already set to perform on the main stage at Coachella on the 14th of April 2023 so we are already on the right path to global domination.
The second thing we need to do is create our own Amapiano fesivals for the entire world to come and enjoy. Over the last 2 years we have seen countries like the UK and Portugal create festivals centred around the genre, it is time for us to bring it back home. Ownership of the Amapiano event space on a global scale is vital for us to continue to colonize the world with our sound.Events such as Scorpion Kings live needs to be marketed as a global festival for the world and not just for South Africa. This will help us control the natrive and ownership of the music.
As we move into 2023, it is clear that Amapiano is poised to become one of the most popular and influential genres of music in the world. Its unique sound, accessibility, and use of live instrumentation make it appealing to a wide range of listeners, while its growing presence on social media is helping to spread its popularity even further. With the right exposure, there's no doubt that Amapiano has the potential to be the next big thing in global music. From us here at The Gold Axis we can't wait to see how the genre grows and the new barriers it will break this year.
