LINCOLN LONG SET TO DROP DEBUT MIXTAPE ''MOONSHOT''

An unquenchable thirst for expression is embodied by Lincoln Long. The self taught artist and producer introduces a new color to South African main stream music. With a myriad of American Grammy nominated composers on his debut mixtape titled Moonshot which is set to drop on the 22nd of March 2020, Long manages to create a sound so warm it could only be African.

Moonshot sees Long on his first solo project as an artist. Having produced for 2Lee Stark, Huey, Anga (Gallo Music) and collaborated with numerous up and coming artists. It comes as a bit of a surprise when, knowing him, he does not lean more towards collaborating. Instead he let’s his voice tell the story for most of the project.

On the 11 track project, Lincoln speaks on past and current romances, the trials that come with chasing dreams and family issues that the introvert can only put in music. We join Lincoln on what feels like a journey of introspection. The songs feel like a one-ended conversation with Lincoln where we get to learn his views on issues he would rather not talk about, but put into song.

Long’s singles off the project, Drugs and Yinwe, have been play-listed on multiple international Spotify playlists with the latter staying for weeks on Munghana Lonene’s top 30 playlist (Tsonga Music Leading Radio Station). The 11 track project is one of many offerings coming this year from Lincoln’s own label “Unmuted. Records. We have had an exclusive listen to a couple of songs off the project it is sure to be one of our favourites this year.
