HERE IS WHY KAMO MPHELA IS SET TO BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTISTS OUT OF SOUTH AFRICA
A global star in the making and her time is coming...
In the space of 3 years Kamo Mphela has managed to work her way into becoming one of the biggest Amapiano artists in the country and her star keeps rising with every move she makes. We believe in the next 24 months she is going to become a global star and become one of the biggest exports from South African music and here is why.
For the last 2 years Amapiano has risen up to become the biggest genre of music in South Africa and has completely shifted the entire soundscape of popular music in the country. The music has completely taken over and has become the countries number one cultural export around the world. For the month of September there has been what we call the ''Amapiano Invasion of the UK'' where the leaders of the Amapiano movement were all in the UK and basically killing shows on the world stage.Everyone from the Major League DJ's,Focalistic,DBN Gogo,Kamo Mphela to the ''Party with the English'' orginator Mr JazziQ were all in attendance and completely took over the scene. From Boiler room performances to sold out shows the piano leaders had one mission and that was to bring ''piano to the world'' and that's exactly what they did.
Kamo came up at the right time in Amapiano with her first introduction to the game was her going viral from one of her dance videos to being a featured on some of the biggest songs in the country like Sandton and Amanikiniki, and now she is set to become one of it's biggest stars. Unlike her peers who are predominantly DJ's or producers she is a full on entertainer. She sings, dances and performs, she is the definition of a tripple threat. If you have ever had the privellage of watching her pefrom live you will know exactly what we are talking about, she is an electrifying performer and she is only going to get better. She is the complete package, she has hit songs, her aesthetic is marticulously well put together and she is one of the best dancers in the country. She is destined to cross over and she has all the right ingridenints to become a world star and become one of her countries biggest exports. Her music may not be as well refined as her peers but another andvantage she has on her side is that she has time, she is only 21 years old and still has the potential to become a great song maker and performer. She already owns her own record label ''Kamo Mphela Entertainment'' and by the time she reaches her thirties she is going to be a mogul and a world class performer.
Her debut music video ''Nkulu Nkulu'' has already amassed more than 8 milion views on youtube in the 6 months since it's release and is already one of the biggest music videos of the genre. She has been all over the African continent from Ghana to Nigeria killing shows and now that she has just come back from her first international gig in the UK her stars are aligning for her to take over. Only time will tell how far she can take it but we believe the next 24 months are going to be vital in her upwards trajectory. She is destined to become a huge star and from us here at The Gold Axis we applaud her and can't wait to see how far she takes it.
