RIKY RICK LEGACY LIVES ON: BOSS ZONKE ALBUM SET TO DROP

Three years after the heartbreaking passing of Rikhado “Riky Rick” Makhado, his family has announced a powerful tribute to the late rap icon with a new album in his honour. The highly anticipated project, titled “Boss Zonke Forever”, will be released on April 4, 2025, marking the anniversary of Riky Rick’s debut album, “Family Values”.

The album cover and tracklist were revealed over the weekend, stirring emotions among fans and the music community alike. The announcement came on the exact date of Riky Rick’s tragic passing at the age of 35.

In an emotional interview on 5FM 5 Takeover with Jodell Tantij, Riky Rick’s wife, Bianca Naidoo, shared the significance of releasing the album:
“We sat with this for so long, and I always wondered when the right time would be. It’s been a while, but the feeling now is that we’re ready.”

Naidoo explained that while the family originally planned to release the album later in the year, the symbolism of April 4th, a Friday, felt like the perfect moment to honour Riky Rick’s memory.

The album features a stellar lineup of talent, with contributions from Lusanda, 25K, Focalistic, K.Keed, Blue Pappei, Lowfeye, Dee Koala, Gemini Major, Cassper Nyovest, Baby S.O.N, Nia Pearl, Lucille Slade, Elaine, Zadok, Kelvin Momo, and Mas Musiq.

This release is a testament to the lasting impact Riky Rick had on South African music and culture, and “Boss Zonke Forever” is set to celebrate his incredible legacy in a way that only he could have envisioned.
